Overview
Meucci Carbon Pro 12.1mm 3/8 x 10 thread cue shaft. Available at 29" and 30" length the Carbon Pro shaft has a pro taper with virtually no rise at 15 inches. Each Carbon Fiber shaft features Meucci's light weight front-end construction. Unlike other Carbon shafts which have a distracting hollow sound, Meucci's Carbon Fiber Pro is not hollow at any point in the construction. The 3/4" long ferrule, not only aids in aim contrast and depth perception, but it also provides a more familiar and stable platform for tip maintenance and replacement over the life of the shaft.

The pro taper is more comon on most cues today. A pro tapered shaft starts at the ferrule and keeps the same diameter 12 to 14 inches up the shaft before starting to get larger toward the shaft joint. This keeps a consistent size of shaft when back and forth in your bridge hand.

Stop looking, this is the one!
Today is a great day. I received my new Meucci Pro Carbon shaft (3/8x10), 12.1 with a Kamui soft tip. I paired it with a Jerry Oliver Butt. Jerry is out of Houston and makes awesome cues. I thought I would post a review because I could not find a review on YouTube that provided any information about these cues. I have owned Meuccis cues in the past and loved them. I read “every review” and watched every video I could find about every carbon shaft on the market. Meucci won my vote based on design, construction and pricing. I was about to purchase the shaft 8 days before they raised the price from $399 to $450. On to the review….
I received the package at 1:25 pm on a Monday; do you think I was waiting for it. I had to sign for it. Then the package was handed over. (Like a Red Ridder BB Gun w/ a compass in the stock) Luckily, I was on lunch and I own a pool table. It was an emotional few minutes. While opening the package, I remembered I had to call Jerry for the shaft joint diameter; does is fit, does the joint match, and what about the diameter. YES…..everything was perfect. Oh, what is that? I ordered a Kamui soft cleat tip; I received a Kamui soft tip. I can live with that. So far so good!?
I was shooting the ghost in 9 ball when the doorbell rang. I had the 3-9 left on the table there was a hard reverse Z shot waiting. That is a tuff shot for the first swing out of the gate. SH-T, what a shot! I am in love after one shot. I ran the rest of the table out. I continued to play for the rest of my lunch hour. I have a new boo!
How did it shoot? It was even better than I thought it would be. Very little to no noticeable deflection. The shaft is sturdy and ridged while being very easy to manage. Better than every other Carbon Fiber shaft that I have tried. (GO Custom, Predator, Cuetic)
What did it sound like? What sound! I did not notice anything. It felt and/or sounded like wood. It was completely different to the other Carbon shafts I have tried. I am very happy with my decision.
Was it smooth? Buttered snotty wonderfulness. LOL. YES!!!! No glove needed.
What is my skill level? I am a 7 in APA 9 ball.
