Great shaft with an even better tip.
I bought this i2 shaft to upgrade the G-core that came on my McDermott G412 cue, which I also wrote a review for a while back. As my pool skills improved, I wanted a shaft that was thinner, with lower deflection and a tip that would give more control over the cue ball. The i2 with Kamui black soft tip has met all those needs. In fact, I liked the tip so much that I replaced the Tiger Everest tip on my G-core shaft with a Kamui black soft and keep it as a back-up now. I will say that changing over to the i2 did take me a couple weeks of playing to get used to, but that was expected and isn't the shaft's fault. With more control of the cue ball now, I'm getting better shape from my shots and making more difficult kicks and banks than before. My draw shots are the area where I've seen the biggest improvement from before. While the G-core is a great shaft itself, the i2 definitely has a noticeable increase in performance.

Not up to par
I purchased this shaft with the McDermott Dubliner and I must admit I wish I hadn't. It is definitely an upgrade from the G-Core shaft but for $200 it is not worth the money when compared to other low deflection shafts. This shaft has some serious cue ball deflection when you get into any left and right english. For the money stick to Predator or OB shafts. They deflect substantially less and have a much better feel than the I-2.

Best of the Intimidator series
I've used all 3 I-shafts and my preference is for the I-2. It's a quality shaft that comes standard with a Moori medium tip. You may like the I-1 better if you want a stiffer shaft. This suits my stroke and my game the best, which is controlled and and a soft tempo.
