Description

The "Picone White Diamond tip" is not a phenolic tip. Phenolic resins are hard and brittle and although they do make the ball jump as well as break hard, can be difficult to glue and very prone to miscues.

* The "Picone White Diamond tip" reduces miss-cues, to a minimum. Takes and holds chalk very well. * It allows you to put english on the cue ball. You can jump with english, stop the cue ball, even drawing it back.

* When used for the break or jump-cue, gone is the glass breaking sound and fear of miscue.
* Tips can be glued on with most common Super-Gels or epoxies, and are much less prone to popping off.

* They are easily installed even with standard cue repair tools, you do not need a lathe. It is best to use a tip close to the size of the shaft for easier installation. If you have no experience with tip installation though, it is still best left to the professional .

* They shape and scuff easily with sand paper and are extra thick and long lasting.

* No need to change your ferrule and because the tip is layered, it will not chip, fracture or split as is common with tip-ferrule combos made from common phenolic rod.

* The Picone White Diamond tip is not harmful to balls or equipment, and meets B.C.A. requirements for competition.

White Diamond
Its a great tip though it needs shaping just like any other tips.
I use a DIY shaper to shape it slightly flatter than a nickle size.

White Daimond J/B tip
I would like to add that despite what a previous reviewer said, I believe the White Diamond IS legal in BCA. Since it is a layered FIBER tip, it will not damage cue balls like some of the space age material tips on the market.

White diamond jump/break tip
I put this tip on my break cue for something harder then a LePro. I was very happy I did. The Picone White Diamond is a multi layered fiber design. I tried counting the layers and it looked like 23 layers. Very hard tip. The surprising part is how well it holds chalk after 1 1/2 years of use. After the original shaping, I have never sanded or pricked this tip. NO MUSHROOMING WHATSOEVER!

Upside....Holds chalk VERY well. You can break with english without
the worry of a mis cue like with phenolic tips.

This tip is legal in leagues where phenolic tips are not allowed.

Tip jumps very well but in APA, you cant switch sticks to attempt
jump shot, so my jump experience is limited to home.

Downside... Shaping this tip to your ferrule without a lathe is a chore
to say the least! Take your time because it will take time.

If you are not accurate with your breaks, unintentional english
will cause undesired results, due to the fact it holds chalk.
Practice break accuracy on a regular basis and this tip will serve
you very well

Definitely would recommend to close friends!!!!

Great Break Tip
White Diamond is the best break tip I've ever used. It possitively will not mushroom. Keep it well-chalked to prevent miscues & you won't be disappointed in its performance.

Best J/B tip but not legal in BCA
This is the best J/B tip hands down. It chalks well so miscues are a thing of the past unlike the phenolic tips. It jumps accurately and doesn't make a shattering sound like phenolic. I also have Samsara tip, best leather tip, on my 2nd shaft which I used at BCA events but the White Diamond still has an edge.

Great Tip
Just got a 2nd cue from a friend installed with a white diamond tip. Break and Jumping is excellent. Cue itself is a cheap Jump/ Break but with this tip, it feels great in both aspect. Highly recommended.

Great tip
The White Diamond does work as advertised... It is more forgiving than a phenolic tip and because the chalk adheres well, you are able to impart english on the cue ball. This is my "go to" choice for breaks and the results are phenomenal... The cue ball hits the rack like a sledgehammer! I do not practice jump shots enough to really speak to its performance there, but I have no doubt that as long as I do my part, the White Diamond will perform well. I used my favorite epoxy to attach the tip, and after many shooting sessions it is still firmly attached. Although I shaved the tip down by hand, a belt sander would have been a savior from a time and elbow grease perspective.

As stated earlier, this tip is forgiving, but accurate striking is a must if you want to avoid the dreaded miscue. To get used to the feel and capabilities of the tip, I actually practiced with it for a few days instead of my regular cue. This definitely helped me get accustomed to the tip and the benefits it provides on the break.
