Uni-loc With Silver Ring

The entire construction of the OB-1 has deviated from the conventional path. Straightness Unlike? Pie piece? Laminated shafts, the OB-1 cue shaft is made up from six?stress relieved? Segments. Each of these segments is made from straight grained laminated maple and machined in a manner that removes the internal stress to help insure the OB-1 cue shaft is straight and stable

ob1 silver ring
The OB-1 shaft is definitely a slick one! IT IS very slick. Played for a month and the shaft’s slickness hasn’t changed a bit! This OB-1 cue shaft features a UniLoc with Black Collar joint with a SEXY SILVER RING!!!!. The hit is remarkably solid! It exceptionally feels and sounds solid! No whippy or inconsistent feel! None whatsoever!

Just like Predator’s 314, there is no need to compensate for deflection or squirt when using the OB-1 cue shaft. Of course, one still has to contend with the physics of the throw imparted on the object ball. But all in all, you just point, shoot, and the cue ball goes where you aim it! And I didn’t have to hit the cue ball as hard to get the same effect on spin and all, thus, increasing my accuracy and level of play! I pocket balls and realize my desired positional plays with much less effort than before! The cue ball follows, draws, and spins with much less effort!

A great shaft for a great price

OB1...a 314 killer?
This shaft allows for probably the most cue english than any other shaft out there, even more than the 314. This is either a good thing or it can be a bad thing depending on how much of a finesse player you are. The hit is softer (more natural?) than the 314 and I find the wooden ferrule easier to crack than the 314. Even with this being a problem, its still a solid shaft and the warranty from OB cues is great. IF there are any issues, call them up and send it back for a repair or a replacement.

Would I recommend this to a friend? YES
What I like most about this shaft: The softer hit, the insane english
What I dislike about this shaft: The wooden ferrule. Its definitely unique but to a lot of people, it can be very distracting. I don't really notice it. The ferrule integrity is also a little on the weaker side when compared to the rival 314. And THE PRICE. I wish these companies would lower the price on these aftermarket shafts so MORE players would be willing to buy it. The fixed costs can't be too high but I think they get greedy thinking that they can make more $$ per shaft. If they lower it to say...$125-140 a shaft there would be a lot more amateurs who would pick this thing up. Remember that the MAJORITY of players are amateurs... (sorry about the rant).

Conclusion: Solid performance from a solid performer!
