The extension feels solid even when fully extended, unfortunately though, the bridge IS made out of metal which is disappointing. I have tried testing it using my 314 2 shaft and I can easily hear and feel the friction between metal and wood. Although the bridge can be removed, the diameter is too big for other (leather or plastic) bridges to fit in.

id had numerous complements on this item. its nice to be able to use it as a short bridge or full length. the head isnt metal, i dont know what the other guy who bought this is talking about who reviewed this, its plastic but has a foil coating it seems. i havent used it much, but if you arent ambidextrous, its nice to have over a rikety house one. do learn to shoot with both hands, you cant lose there

Pros: The retractable stick is a terrific idea; it is compact and will fit inside most cases without problems.

Cons: The metal bridge is a horrible idea for cues. You will get a million dings on your shaft before you know it, and this system will not accept any other bridge heads. If the bridge head is made of delrin or leather, it'd get five stars.

Conclusion: Terrific retractable system, horrible bridge head. Buy it only if you're extremely careful or don't care about dings on your shaft.

I agree that the metal bridgehead is disappointing. I used my dremel cutting away the bridge from the main bolt assembly, then I epoxied a plastic moosehead onto it. I cant say how much I love it now.. Ive had it for over a year and its in constant use since Im very short and play only 9ft tables.. And it fits into my case so its always available. Get it you wont regret it.
