predator bk2
what can i say predator has the best everything all the way down to their break stick. this stick is so perfectly balanced especially with it being lighter than most break sticks. i feel like you can get a better swing with it. also i talked to a predator retailer at the super billiards expo in 2011 and they said the best deal anyone can do is buy the break stick and then purchase one of the predator shafts (with a uni lock pin). they said the butt for the break stick is no different than that of predators sport cue. just fyi. love the feel the hit and the results.

Breaking Point
I have always looked for the lightest house cue to break with. I finally bought the Predator BK2 and love it. I bought an 18oz Break Cue and get great action on the break. I don't know why I waited so long.

It's worth every penny.
I love how this cue hits, how solid it felt, and love that I can get more action out of the cue ball with the same stroke. I do believe it has made a difference in terms of making a ball in on the break, on occasion. If you get one extra rack in a night because the cue works for you that is worth it to me.

The cue has an low-deflection shaft, unique to the BK2 (it's not a 314 or a Z). It has all the same benefits of the 314/Z-shafts

The cue has a great hit. It’s a Delrin joint with a Uniloc pin. There is a phenolic sleeve inserted into the shaft which is concentric with the pin. The sleeve butts against the brass joint register in the butt, so when you stroke and hit the cue ball the energy passes from the phenolic sleeve into the brass female part of the joint. This gives it a unique feel; it’s in between a metal/metal joint and delrin/delrin joint.

I have the phenolic tip on my cue with linen wrap. The phenolic tip is almost maintenance free (I touch it up every 6 months); it’s well shaped and surfaced from the factory. I have also tried the leather tipped cue and it’s great as well, a harder leather tip.

As for the wrap, the linen is tight and fine, durable, and it feels nice. I have also used my friends sport grip version, and if you like a golf club grip then this is what you want… It feels great!

Overall it’s a great purchase. There are cheaper break cues that do the job for sure, I would just say that if you are wondering if this cue is worth the price, I say absolutely yes this one is worth the money.

An interesting product
I bought a Predator BK2 from Seybert's two years ago, and I'm very happy with it.

If you're considering buying a break cue, be sure to order one that's slightly lighter than your normal cue. Usually players reach for the 21 ounce cue to break, but time and again it's been proven that a lighter cue will actually break better.

Why buy a breaking cue when you already have an old cue you don't mind banging hard?

1 The breaking cue has a tough phenolic tip that doesn't get soft or mush out.
2 The harder tip and sturdy build definitely give you more power.

There's also a good reason NOT to buy this cue...

The same tip that gives you that extra pop and never mushrooms out has one shortcoming - if you don't hit the cue accurately, it will miscue - and it'll do so easier than a normal cue. Buyer beware.

That said, I'm very happy with my purchase. The cue provides much more powerful breaks, it's extremely durable, and it has taught me the importance of control over power.

All of my friends ask to borrow it when we're out - the power improvement is noticeable. It also separates the players from the hackers; their sloppy attempts to slam a break with all their might end up in an embarrassing miscue... Which leads to me getting a turn.

After two years of use (and abuse...), my Predator BK2 still looks and plays like new. It's very well built and is amazingly durable, especially given the thrashing we've put it through. I'd buy one again in a heartbeat.
