Strategies and Training Techniques for the Serious Pool Player
The Pro Book broke the mold? Now there?s The Advance Pro Book
Introduction:
By the time I finished The Pro Book in 1997, I had already devoted almost ten years of my life to the game of pocket billiards. Through my study of the game and the top professionals of the period, I had taken myself from an average player to a seasoned competitor. I had even won tournament matches from national and world-class players and cashed in a few professional events.
But I wasn't nearly as close to my goal as I thought?which brings us to one of the frustrating aspects of the sport. In pool, one is only aware of their ignorance when they transcend it. There is no predetermined reference point to measure yourself against. You may know where you rank compared to other players, but you don't know how long it will take or what is required for you to step up to a higher level of play.
The Pro Book was released as a specialized book for a select market?players who wanted to get professional about the time and energy they were investing in the game. To date, it has been reprinted five times, translated into Japanese and Italian, and used by a long list of top players to win matches and tournaments.
For the last seven years, I have remained out on the playing field?in the tournament trenches?committed to discovering and accepting all that the game will give up to me. In this book I will do my best to share that information with you.
The purpose of The Advanced Pro Book is to take you to the next level?to give you the concepts and training techniques to take your game beyond its current limits. Use this book to your advantage. You don't have to reinvent the game by yourself. I have embraced and added to the ever-growing body of knowledge and now I'm passing it on to you. If you read it, you'll get a lot...if you study it, you'll get even more. But if you do the work that is in it, you could become a champion. Good luck and good shootin'!
