Default Re: 314^2 turned down

1mm is approx. .040".
The 314-2 is 12.75mm so going from 12.75 to 12.5 is a reduction of 1/4mm, approx. .010" .
So yes, this would be considered to be a modest T/D.
Now, so that I may gain some insight, why are you considering a T/D and what are you expecting from the procedure?

I'd like to make the following statement and have it be understood that it's directed at no one in particular. More like food for thought for the masses.
"The quickest way to Carnegie Hall is practice, practice, practice".

In other words, it's OK to tweak your equipment to better suit your style of play but there is no 'silver-bullet' as far as advancing your game. The key to any significant gains is spending time at the table; lots of time.
Part of the learning process is coming to terms with the equipment you have and playing within it's capabilities; learning what those capabilities/limitations are.
Knowing what you can and cannot do is the basis for confidence. Confidence at the table is a devastating weapon.

My reasons for a turn down and the 314 are simply feel. I mentioned in another thread I have a Z2 currently. I like the smaller diameter, not the taper. So I am trying to find a happy medium. I am still a little ways away from getting it figured out, playing with friends occasionally and what not. Hell I might even switch to an OB lol
