OK, I have just installed a new hard triangle tip on my break cue. So far everything has gone pretty good. I used my lathe to remove the old tip and to get a perfectly flat end on the ferrul. I then roughed it up with 60 grit sandpaper ...I also roughed up the back of the tip. Then applied a very thin coat of Crazy Glue Gel, then held the tip in place for 30-60 sec. Put the shaft back in the lathe and evened out the edges of the tip/ferrul. I then polished with 400, 1000 and finally 2000 grit sandpaper. I then used my burnisher to really burnish the sides. Great so far. ( I think) But when I started to shape the tip I cannot get a good finish ...it keeps ending up 'fuzzy' ....what have I done wrong ....or what am I not doing right.
thanks,
