Thread: Does this look like a JossWest?

Default Does this look like a JossWest?

I know this picture sucks but can anyone offer any advice on whether or not this is a Josswest?

I am trying to buy it and need to know some stuff. First, how will I be able to tell if the shafts are original? Second, any ideas on what it might be worth?

I know this is probably a bit of a shot in the dark but thought I'd try.

    Any input is appreciated.

I haven't actually seen this cue in person yet, but is there anything in particular I should be looking for when i see it, other than the obvious straightness together/apart, ferrule, tip etc?

    Thanks.

Also, supposing this was a Josswest, ni decent condition, what might it be worth? 1500?

I doubt that it's a Josswest, I've never seen one with such short butt cup. It could be a Joss. In fact the more I look at it the more it looks like a Joss to me.

Josswest cues in mint conditions will usually go for over $2000 depends on the design and materials used could go over $5000 as well.

If it is a Joss than it should be under $1000

OK, a quick search and I found this cue:

This is a Joss JOS-07 and you can get it on-line for $348 with one shaft.
An extra shaft will cost you under $150

If this cue is used and in great condition than I wouldn't pay for it more than $400 with both shafts.

    One more quick note.
If you don't know cues very well I suggest to stay away from buying cues from private people of from e bay.

You can't go wrong with reputable businesses like Seybert's. They will go the extra mile to get you what you want and you can trust them 100% to deliver the real thing!

That picture looks pretty close to mine. I was asking because this guy is selling locally and insists his cue is a Josswest. Said he paid 500 for it and from some talking with him he seems to be knowledgeable on the game. The price he is asking is super low for a josswest, so I figured I would at least meet him and take a look at the cue.

As for buying on ebay, I would always go with Seyberts over that. This forum has shown me what a great operation Seyberts is running. I plan on buying a Schon after xmas and it will be coming from here.

Anyway, Skor, I really appreciate your input on my questions. Thanks a lot.

    Any time

I just picked up a really nice Schon from Seybert's myself. They are great players.
