    Default What would you get?

I thought a thread like this would be fun. If you had $2500 to spend on a cue that you had to play with for the rest of your life, what would it be? What kind of design would it be? This is just a fun thread. Personally I would order a cue from James White. The design would be like this, Birdseye Maple forearm with 8 Ebony points (all long) with 4 veneers green, blue, green, and blue, piloted SS joint with ivory stitch rings, black lizard wrap, ebony buttsleeve with an ivory Hoppe ring. Plain but elegant. I have thought about having this cue made for awhile.

Other cues: Phillippi, Joss, Black Boar, Skip Weston

oooo I love James White cues, they look so good... well no wonder, he picked the trade from Paul Motty... do you think that $2500 will cover that cue?

I think that I would go with a short spliced Paul Dayton cue with 6 points Amboyna burl (high-low) with 2 veneers spliced into Ebony with lizard wrap and some ivory rings
    something a bit like this

Skor, the cue I designed would be a few hundred less than $2500. It is a simple players cue. I dont like cues that are too fancy, just some nice woods that compliment each other.

    Default McDermott

I would get this cue from McDermott or have a custom cue maker make me one similar, and I would pocket the rest of the money. LOL

I would probably go with something along the lines of a Porper Tuxedo Cue, ebony with ivory points. Something along the lines of Greg's cue but with traditional points rather than floating inlays. As for the cue maker, there are quite a few custom cue makers that make a top notch cue that plays even better than it looks.

    Think $2500 would cover that?
