Well, since you posted in the Predator forum I'll suggest that you get a Predator BK instead.
The sledge is a good break cue but I didn't like it for jumping. I've never tried the BK but the 314 works very well.
the BK is sweeeeet![]()

Interesting question. I liked the feel of the Sledghammer, but it deflected more than the BK and the taper is shorter, making it harder to follow through.
Combination jump/ break cues will either do one or the other well, never both. The dynamics needed for a jump cue are far different than what you want for a break cue.

I agree with Neil, my breaking has improved since I got my BK. Actually the first 2 breaks with this cue pocketed the 8 ball for consecutive wins for myself and a teammate. After that everyone on my team was sold. As for a jump cue, I have yet to see anyone jump really well with a combination cue.
Just my 2 cents worth.
I have the Predator BK ....it was a hard decision between it and the Sledge....but I am extremely happy with it......People I play against are pretty impressed with the hit also....3 cents worh....mike 8)
I would get a BK but 300 bucks..... ouch gotta save up
Sonnic....as bad as I was at breaking...it was worth 300 bucks....it really has helped me.....get out the old credit card and pay for it monthly...mike
How about changing bk tip & ferrule to sledge material. I have seen one in Amsterdam open this year. I know it will not be warranty if you do this.
