Thread: Schon LTD 627 - Beautiful

Default Schon LTD 627 - Beautiful

Just received my new LTD 627 in the mail from Seyberts on Thursday last week. What a beauty...had it customized with a leather wrap instead of the black with white spec Irish linen, a black butt cap instead of the white, an ivory ferrule in the Schon shaft and got a completely matched 314 with the exact ringwork and joint.

What an absolute beauty...nice job by the guys at Schon and the guys at Seybert's with the order.

I liked this cues design the minute I saw it. I have gotten more compliments than you can imagine and most people that were not partial to Schon absolutely say this is the best Schon they have ever laid eyes on.

The hit with the Schon shaft is true, but it feels stiffer at contact than the 314 does. I mean the shaft does not feel like it gives much at all. I didn't think the shaft induced too much deflection and I spent the entire first day playing with this cue using the Schon shaft with the ivory ferrule. It has a very solid hit and it is very balanced. The black leather wrap and the black butt cap I requested really finish it off nicely.

    Thanks for the compliments guys.

    I prefer the Schon shaft.
I agree that it is much stiffer than the predator.
I will be interested to see which shaft you use the most as they are very different. best of luck, Sanj.

I have a 314 shaft for my Schon cue and it has stayed in the bag for the last 4 years. I don’t know if one shaft is better for deflection than the other but it seems that I play better with the Schon shaft (I avoid side spin like the plague). I am not talking about just an initial impression. I used the 314 shaft exclusively on my Schon for one year before going back to the Schon shaft.

    I did exactly the same.
I have not used my 314 for a long time and much prefer the schon shaft.
I find i have more feel and touch on almost all my shots with the original shaft.

I'll be sure to let you guys know. I got a Talisman Pro Med tip put on both shafts, the Schon with ivory ferrule and the 314. I will continue to play with the Schon shaft since I have 314s on every other cue I might use.

    Stay tuned...

I use the Talisman Pro Medium on all of my regular shooting shafts. I love them.

    dags_lax,

The Talisman Pro M's that were put on these shafts seem extremely hard compared to other friends TPM's that I have shot with. Might just be the batch...but a slightly harder tip isn't too bad...gives consistency at least. Thanks.
