I know that there are separate topics for both but I didnt know exactly which one to put it in. Which do you think is the better cue both in just quality but also playability and feel. A Predator cue or a Lucasi cue with a Predator shaft. Both play with the same shaft but based on "more bang for your buck", which do you think would come out on top?
I’ve been playing with a P2 for over 6 months and it’s the best cue I ever played with.
I recently had problem with my shaft and found out that I’ll be spending about 3 weeks without it, my buddy had a Lucasi cue and since it’s the same joint I’ve been playing with it for 1 week and I’m quite surprise of it’s performance. I find you loose a little bit of spin but unless you’re a big 9 ball player you probably won’t need to send your cue ball up and down the table all night and the soft played back spin it just dies faster, unless your playing on a BC most other table you can play a bit harder and compensate.
Throwing as a huge difference the P2 can throw a lot more if needed. I guess I find that the 314 is a lot better since I throw ball quite a bit and play lot’s of nine ball but if you can’t afford a 314 it’s a nice alternative.
I have a Predator cue and my buddy has a Lucasi. I prefer the general feel of the predator shaft, but since you're going to get a Predator shaft on the Lucasi cue I doubt you'll notice much difference. I haven't shot with the new model from Predator, but from reading about it I'd imagine it provides the 'truest' feel and consistancy, if that makes any sense to you. If you've never owned a high quality stick before, I seriously doubt you'd notice the difference though. So when it comes down to it, pick the one that fits your budget and you think looks good, and I'm sure you'll be happy with it.
I think once there is a metal joint that separate the butt from the shaft there is not much difference which butt you got, it's all in the shaft and the tip, getting a Lucasi with a predator shaft will play the same as any 3k predator butt, but this combo can come out cheaper the getting a full predator cue and you'll have 2 shafts the predator one and the original Lucasi one, it's allways good to have a second shaft in you case, let say that in a tournament the tip pops off it's better to play with a lucasi then any house cue :)

I have Lucasi cues and have at least 3 of the 314 shafts with the matching Lucasi ringwork. The 314 on the Lucasi cue will play just as good...

I agree, as long as the shaft is Predator, take a pick of any brand you like for the rest of it........
