Does anybody have any input on these cues as far as their play and feel. I know that they have a large shaft diameter which I heard helps give you a solid feel. Im thinking about getting one of the new 2003 series but before I drop that kind of cash (for a college student!) I want to know if it will be worth the money. Would anyone recommend any other cues that are good solid hitting cues that wont really break the bank?

I own a Joss cue, and it is a nice stick, but for the money I don't think you can beat a Viking cue. They have much better deflection characteristics than the Joss cues, and I think that the Viking joint #5 give a lot more feed back. Joss makes nice cues though, and they look good, much more traditional look. I think you would be very happy with either cue, I just think that a Viking is a better stick.

Joss cues come with a standard 13.25 mm tip whereas most other manufacturers have a 13 mm tip, so yes you may have less squirt with a cue from another manufacturer such as Viking. The plus side for the thicker shaft there is more power, more consistent control from shot to shot and, joints and tips being equal, a better feel of what is happening the moment the cue strikes the cue ball.

I do own a Joss as well as a couple of Vikings and various other cues. The workmanship on the Joss is first rate. I don't think you will be disappointed.
