was hoping to find larger "economy" sizes for the cleaner.

Qclean products don't have any larger sizes... the only thing I have in the bigger volume is the Shark Oil. We have it in the 8oz. bottle for $16.95.

Thanks.

I've heard that the Q-clean is just basically powdered bleach. I know that's what it smells like, but I've assumed it must contain something in addition to or is a special powdered bleach.

Does anyone know this or has anyone tried just your basic powdered bleach from the laundry room isle of the local market? and if so what results did you have?

I have tried the Q-clean line of products (Q clean, Q slick etc). I love the Q slick and use it a lot. Nothing I have found keeps my shaft as clean and smooth.

I don't know what Q-clean is but I found that BonAmi kitchen scouring powder works as well and is a whole lot cheaper. On the other hand you should not have to do such a radical cleaning very often. BonAmi has the advantage of having no abrasives to speak of. Just work quickly to avoid allowing moisture to penetrate the wood.

Mike-

I did a lot of research on this a while ago. The company is called PCC products, but I could not find any contact information anywhere on the web. PCC stands for precipitated calcium carbonate, which is essentially precipitated chalk. There is no way to buy their formula in a bigger size, but you can fine the powedery precip chalk on the internet for abouth $6 for a huge container that would last a year or more. It is a little messier but does the same job.
