Just got one of these cues a couple of days ago . Tonight I noticed that my cue ball has a bunch of half circle blue tip marks like those you get when using cheap chinese/taiwanese made balls . The balls Im using are Belgian Aramith "Premier" by Saluc company , getting on for a year old now but I hadn't noticed any marks before although I could just have been unobservant previously . Also I've just started using a block of complimentary Blue Balabushka chalk with this cue where as previously I used green or brown Master chalk so if the marks were already there there would be green and brown marks too you would think . Anyone seen anything like this before or heard of phenolic tips damaging balls , Im not that a powerful a breaker so it's not that (although I wish it was)
but the cues are BCA approved so you think it wouldn't get that approval if it was damaging balls .

the balabushka chalk is very very soft.
i like the chalk a lot.
it does however tend to mark balls if they are dirty.
i dont think that the sledgehammer will damage the balls.

thanks for your reply , I like the chalk too but I couldn't even clean the marks off with metho , I'll go and get a new cue ball and some aramith ball cleaner this morning if I can and try the sledgy with some other chalk . I'll draw a break point circle about an inch round on the cleanest part of the old cue ball . I wondering if it could be the jump shots doing it , possibly my old bungee tipped jump stick .
