Could someone describe the various butt constructions used in Viking cues? 1, 2, 3-piece? Which models use what? Advantages, disadvantages, etc. I have a VM31 and am considering a VM18 - what are the diferences? Do they balance differently?
I know - a lot of questions, but I'm curious.
Thanks.

In general cue making, I believe it is a standard 3 piece contruction. I have never "torn" apart a Viking to find out though.

Q: Do you use lower-grade wood in lower-priced Viking cues?
A: Yes, but we do not compromise quality or durability when grading wood. We grade wood based on grain quality and quantity.
I have owned several Viking cues. Some in the higher price range and some in the lower price range. Personally, the only difference between the "high" end cues I have had and the "low" end cues were just the apperance. They all hit the same for me. As for the balance point on a Viking, all of my Vikings balance either a little above the wrap or a little below the wrap.
