This is directed towards anyone having more of an advanced knowledge of cue repair.

I have been replacing tips, reconditioning shafts on mine and others cues for some time now. I recently had my ferrule crack when I broke a rack the other night. Can anyone offer me some suggestions on how to remove the cracked ferrule.

Thanks to any reply!

Cut it off on a metal lathe and trim the new ferrule to match the shaft on the lathe.
If you try and cut it off with a saw or break it off with pliers you will most likely damage or break the tenon inside the ferrule. Then you will still have to get the new ferrule to match the shaft. If you try sanding the ferrule to match the shaft it will probably end up egg shaped.
To get it right use a lathe
