I'm going to buy a Lucasi cue but I'm not sure which joint to get.
The cue I want either comes with a Uni-Loc or a 5/16 x 18 pin.
I've heard that the Uni-Loc joint has a very hard hit, whereas the pin/wood joint has a softer.
Are there any other issues with these joints? I hear that Uni-Loc's have a tendency to get stuck. Does the pin in a regular radial pin joint slowly strip the wood inside the shaft over time?
Thanks for the input. Feel free too add anything to the joint discussion.

I am a uni-loc fan. Have used one on several different cues since they came out. You want to make sure that you get a stainless steel uni-loc joint which is not a problem as that is what uni-loc uses. The hit might be slightly harder than the 18 thread, but it is miniscule and not a problem with my game. The radial pin is also a great joint with no worries. The way the threads are cut, it eliminates the chance of the threads stripping out on the inside. If you take careful notice, the cuts are very different than that of a normal 10 thread for instance and there is more wood in the joint and it is smooth compared to the deep cuts on the 10 thread. It is a great joint for the people that prefer the softer hit of a wood threaded joint.
