I am in search of a new case probally a 2 x 2 or 2 x3... and have noticed that there are quite a few copies of the Instroke cases.
And that they are also a little less $$$. Companies like Action Elite or Sterling. I have heard that these are made in Taiwan or out east but how do they compare to the Instroke cases?
Is the Instroke worth the extra $$$.

To me, the only thing I look for in a case is how it is going to protect my cues. If its leather or if its vinyl doesn't matter to me. Instroke cases are, in my opinion, constructed fairly well. I personally have an Action Pro case and have had it for some time. I have some friends that have the Instroke cases and the only difference I've noticed is that their cases are leather were mine is not. The construction is quite the same. With that said, I guess it is a matter of preference. If you want to accent your cue(s) with fancy cases, the Instroke is the way to go. Not to say my Action Pro case isn't fancy, just not made from leather.
As far as where they are made, I have no idea where my particular case was made.

Instroke cases are well worth the extra money. Those replicas don't stand up to the abuse an Instroke can. Saying from personal experience.

A friend of mine has a Instroke Cowboy... I just got to check it out. It's really impressive.
However when taking the cues out he had to turn the case upside down and shake it a little to get the shafts out ... weird or what?
If you don't have joint protectors, then it is harder to take the shafts out. But what I do is insert the handle from the butt of the cue first and I can grad the joint part of the cue then screw it into the shaft to take the shaft out.
