Hey Dave,

Thanks for the insight... But how exactly do you do this?

Do you just take a lighter and heat the tip up?

How far should the flame be from the tip and how long do you need to heat the tip?

Do you run the risk of damageing the ferule? Or discoloring it?

Has anyone else tried this?

Re: Making a tip softer. I was told to put a backing on a medium WB to make it softer (to make their medium more like a true medium). Anyone know about using backings?
