Has anyone used a Viper cue? What are your thoughts? My g/f bought me a Viper Cue (As a gift, so I didn't know she bought it until it was to late, and I'm not going to take it back to make her feel bad).
I don't think it's a horrible cue, definately better then some I've used. But, I recently played with a friends Schon and have fallen in LOVE.
I think if I do anything right now it's buy a new shaft, and I'd love to get a predator shaft for it; but am not sure if they custom make it to fit a Viper.
Any info on Viper cues/your opinions I'd love to hear. I can handle the harsh comments I'm expecting.
Well, I am not one for harsh comments, but my cue got stollen. Why not tell the girl friend that your Viper got stolen also?
I'm sorry, don't lie to her (unless you think you can get away with it :D)
The experience I have had was a customer wanted a Viper cue. We don't stock them and I new nothing about them. I ordered one for him and I also ordered one for the store. The customer returned his (I don't blame him) now I have two. That has been over a year ago. They will probably be in the store for a while. Hard to sell something I really don't beleive in.
Man, I am sorry, this is the worst post I have ever written. But, hey...you said you could stand it.
The joint on the ones at the store is kinda funky and we would not be able to fit the Predator shaft to one. Sorry.
Good Luck with your new Schon  ,
P.S. I have never used one, so my comments are only on the perception, construction of the cue. Who knows, it could be a world beater.

Hey there, you should consider yourself lucky. I've wanted a cue from my GF but until today she hasn't buy me one. She said that she doesn't have the money to buy a nice cue eventhough she wants to do it. I told her don't worry about it cause I do know that she doesn't have the money for that.
Now if, I say if she bought me a cue, eventhough its an el cheapo cue I'm gonna carry and play with it couple times, especially when I took her to shoot pool, it's definetly better than house cue but in the other times I'm just gonna use it for breaking cue and just keep it as a souvenir. That's really nice of your GF, at least she support your hobby.
I do know that after you hit with a SCHON you felt like your viper cue felt like ain't worth a flip  Trust me, been there done that. I have never own/hear about viper cue but I had a webb custom cue and its no where close to Schon. Or NEXT time tell her what kind of cue that you like and put it in your wish list. I'm pretty sure most girl, I said most regular girl that do not shoot pool for serious, just for fun doesn't really know the important of a good playing cue.
ANYWAY You're a lucky man. I wouldn't tell her that your cue got stolen, it might hurt her feeling. She has to work to earn the money for the cue. Either keep it and just use it for recreational purpose or TELL HER STRAIGHT in the face, that you don't like the cue but you love the SCHON. Maybe she can get a refund and trade it for a new schon.
The choice is yours

yeah, i agree. im going to use it as a breaking cue WHEN i can afford to get a schon or something around $500-600.
your right too, she thought a cue was a cue, until - the tip came off my shaft saturday and the local pool hall here is retipping it (they do a good job im told, havent seen their work yet)-- anyways, so we only had that one cue, so we had to go to wal-mart & buy a $10 cue for our table in our house.
she says to me last night, "i didnt know there was a difference in cues until having to play with that walmart cue instead of yours." -- which just goes to show she didn't know what she was buying when she bought the viper - only that she was spending $150 & it was "pretty" :)
it was nice of her thought. for valentines day i got a sweet leather jacket. i think she likes to throw money @ me ;) wish i could return the favor, but, until the "job market" picks up around here it looks rough.
Thanks guys.

thanks
she's starting to get better @ pool & a little more serious... that's why she wants to get her own cue. I've got VHS tapes of Jimmy Reid & she's been watching those & doing the practice techniques ;)

I know buy a schon and tell her it's a break cue. Then carry both of them around in a 2x4 case, but only use the schon.
