Hey everyone, how are you doing? I have a confusing questions to ask, about 9 ball rule.

My friend and I play 9 ball and to eliminate a luck factor, we use International Challenges of Champions rule, where you have to call the 9 ball. If you pocket the 9 ball UNINTENTIONALLY during the game it has to be respotted. Now the questions occurs:

1. What if the 9 ball was pocketed Unintentionally and got spotted, does your opponent got a ball in hand or the player who pocketed the 9 ball shoot from there?

2. What if just down to the 9ball and he called the side pocket and made it in the WRONG pocket, is that only means that the 9 ball is respotted or it's a loss?

Hopefully any of you will figure this thing out.

Thank's

It's an automatic loss. You win!

Hi Saint,
Sorry, overlooked your post. If the nine goes in the wrong pocket, it is spotted and the cue is played where it stops. No ball in hand.

If the 9 is hit in when the pocket was not called, the nine is spotted and the player who made the error forfeits his shot but the incoming player plays the cue where it stopped. No Ball in Hand.

What if you sink the object ball and the nine ball (not called) during the same stroke? Do you lose your turn?

nope, if you make the object ball, and the nine happens to go in also the nine is spotted and you continue where the cue comes to rest. You do not get penalized for making the nine. It just gets respotted.
