3 piece slate crooked

any ideas how to level it off? there is a seam in which one side is slightly higher than the other

You need to get those small wood wedges they make for this problem. You hammer them under the wood frame the slate sits on on the side that is low. Use a level across the seam and tilt it up so that one small edge is touching the slate pieces. Look for light coming from under on side or the other. Hammer the wedge in until no light comes from either side. Make sure to not hit the slate or wood frame with the hammer (be gentle). Good luck.
