refelting a coin-op table?

I just bought an older(1972) murrey coin-op table (7 foot) and the old felt was glued to the slate around the outer perimeter(no glue on the playing area). Is this how I need to refelt it? I downloaded the zip file from here showing how to staple a felt down but that won't work with this table. There is no room to wrap the felt around anything that a staple will go into. I can take some pictures to explain it better if you need me to.

That is how you would want to glue the new cloth on. Just around the outside of the slate. You never want to glue the top of the slate. You can pick up the glue that you will need on this page
