Iowa BCA tournament

Well we came, we saw, we were conquered. :oops: In fact the phrase, "we had our asses handed to us on a plate" was used several times to describe our second match. Sad, but hey thats how it goes. When your best player gets run out 3 of the 5 times he's up without getting to shoot more than a break 8O what are you gonna do? Oh well, we didn't play bad, we just got out played. Hope anyone else who was there did better. We'll do better next year.

Our team had a similar thing happen to us in our local BCA Regional tournament. I had one turn at the table in the three rounds that we played. The other team either got a break and run or a table run after our breaks or first miss. Come to find out after the tournament was over with that the team that we played consisted entirely of employees of the establishment we were playing at.

It was an experience though, so I can't complain too much.

Parrothead, Sorry to hear about it...Gotta hate that feeling you get when you just sit and watch your opponent shoot. We did OK...got a few matches out in the winners bracket and had to play a team that we play in our local league. We had not beaten them before, went up 7-2 in a race to 9....and....ended up losing. :x Got some money back which is always a good thing though. I really like BCA vs. VNEA with the organization of the tourney and brackets...nice knowing you can leave and have to be back at a specific time. We'll be there next year too!!!!

I have to agree. BCA tourneys are much better than the VNEA tourneys in my opinion. Next year I won't be shooting at the NVEA state, bca only. At the VNEA tourney we never got a break, and it was just a pain in the ass. I didn't like the 7 hour break we got at BCA, but it was better than playing 4 straight matches.

We played a match in the winner's bracket at 12:00, won and did not play our next match until 6:00pm. I overheard a couple TD's saying the times that printed out were wrong. The 6:00pm matches should have been 2:00pm matches. Instead of changing the times they went to the loser's bracket and changed times of matches that had no team in yet. They did not want to take the chance of teams seeing the 6:00pm and leaving. I think that may have caused some delays somewhere else also. I still like to have the times posted though.
