Sid,
Do you have Predator shafts tapped to receive 3/8 Radial pins?

HI Kelso,

It is nothing that Predator offers standard in their cues,
But, it is something I wanted to start offering for a while with our custom shafts. We don't have the tap it takes to make the shaft now but I just made the call to UNI-LOC, the makers of the pin and talked with them and they have the tap in stock and ready to go. I persoally really like the joint so I have been wanting to start making the radial Predator shafts for a while. If you want one, just let me know and I will get the tap on order and we will make the shaft for your cue, not to mention making it possible for us to continue to make them.

By the way, we are now tooled up to make Predator shafts for Cuetec's Joints in case anyone is interested.

And Southwest.

Did somebody say 314 and Cuetec in one phrase? Woohooo. I have an ES series with an implex joint (i think Cuetec uses the x13 joint right)? How much would a customized shaft cost for this particular cue? I guess it's time to buy me a caliper.

hit a nerve out there huh?
cost is around the $200.00 range. I am at home now and talking for our cue maker but that has been the norm. It basically breaks down like this.
Predator Partial - $132.00
Custom make joint $65.00
Total project - $197.00
You will usually get popped around $9 to $10 for the shipping so it is usually just above the $200.00 mark.

For an added note on the Cuetec cues, it is really better to send in the butt of the cue for the fitting. (sorry, I know no one wants to hear that) it is just that cuetec has been known to be lets say a little inconsistent as far as the joint is concerned. They each have their own pesonnality. For a fit that you will be happy with I would highly recomend sending in the butt also.

So, save your money on the calipers, you will need it for shipping your cue butt here :D

 I actually got the calipers at the hardware shop yesterday.
Sid, how much will the shaft cost?(about this radial pin I know of a lot discerning fans)
By the way can your cue guy do a maroon impex ring and will this cost extra?

Roughly the same, probably a little less as there is no need for a insert in the shaft to accept the radial pin. The threads are cut right into the wood of the shaft. KJ has matched some pretty neat rings so if he can find the materials I am sure that he could do it. for a decent estimate, he would need to have a look at the ring he was to duplicate and then we could let you know the exact cost and you could make up your mind there.

Also what is available is to take off the ring from your old shaft and transfer it over to the new predator shaft. BUT, this will ruin the old shaft so it will not be returned. Not a option for everyone but alot of people have opted for that exact match. Also, another good thing is that the old ring gives KJ the exact diameter of the butt. That is the next best thing to having the butt at his shop to match the shaft with.
