They're all well made sticks. At this stage if you don't know what or who you want made then you're definitely NOT ready for a $1600 stick. Wait and acquire more pool playing experience before getting a custom stick.

I agree completely. Some players save for a year or more to buy a $1600 cue and they usually have their heart set on that one special cue that their saving for. Saving that much and not knowing what to buy seems to me like maybe your thinking a more expensive stick will make you play better or feel better. Look around for a stick you really like, a stick that you know you'll have forever and since money is no object, you have plenty of time to decide.

I already have a design in mind. It is just that i am afraid that it will turn out nt so nice. Therefore, i need some suggestions from you guys...

My suggestion is hang in there and keep playing. After you have played long enough you'll know what you want, and not care what I or anybody else wants. Till then buy a decent inexspensive production cue, like the 3k7, and keep shootin.

find a cue you are happy with.try different weight cues ,size of tips and see if you like front weighted cues.then you can spend the money wisely.

I have just recieved a custom cue.
I bought a Paul Mottey cue.
It has been almost a years wait, and a lot of emails.
I can only say that I am delighted with the cue.
I love the confidence it gives and the hit is so very different from my P2.
I prefer this cue.
Does anyone else have a custom cue?
what did you want and is it what you expected?

I've heard good things about Keith Josey cues. But If I were going to spend $1600 I'd look at Samsara cues. Since the consensus is that after a certain amount of money, your paying for the looks, Samsara makes Beautiful looking cues. Both have websites if you want to check them out. search for them on google to get the exact site.

Mr. Guest:

How long have you been playing pool?

Myself, I made the stupid mistake of buying a custom cue after having played for only a year and what a mistake. At that time I didn't realize that I didn't know just what features I wanted in a custom stick. Or I didn't know how to express what I wanted. So the stick was traded away shortly after getting it.

Well, 2 years and several sticks later I knew what I wanted in terms of playability so I ordered it from Phillippi. And this time around I got just what I wanted and my game has really taken off. I mean, the cue ball control and positioning is simply phenomenal and I'm getting more 5 ball runs in eightball than ever before.

Give your game time prior to getting that prized stick so don't rush things.

I recently purchased a Keith Josey sneaky pete fitted with a predator shaft, and it plays like a dream. I have never played with a better cue. I think that custom cues are the best cues to play with, especially if you consider pool to be more than just a game.

Drop $400.00 - $500.00 on the cue and put the rest toward lessons.

Predator 2 = $636
Predator BK = $300
Predator Case = $209
Extra Shaft = $200
Cleaning & Maintenance stuff = rest of the $$ left

I'd get these any day. Instead of 1 cue, you get a complete set for about the same price. If you care for performance, these are at par if not the best when it comes to technology. I'd say a predator cues are "production cues in price but customized cues in value". If you care for looks, they are straightforward and classy.

I would agree with Pool Addict. I was using a (cough) Cuetec before and now I have a Predator 3K6 and BK. I love those cues and wouldn't give them up for the world. I would suggest leaving the custom cue for awhile and buying a good production cue so you can get a feel for them. That will tell you what you want in a cue.
