Is there a benefit to cleaning your shaft regularly? I see good sticks all the time in league play and most are dirty. Does it help with the smoothness of the cue? and if cleaning is good what do i want to use on my cue? how often should i clean it? I have been sanding my shaft to clean it(very fine paper of course), obviously this isn't best but for my situation what should i do? :?
Also i realize this is going to seem dumb but what is a ferrule? :?
Thanks,
Sonnic

PRIDE IN OWNERSHIP and cleaning gets rid of the "stickies". You don't want a sticky shaft, do you?

Buy some cleaning supplies from seyberts. The Q-clean system works very well for me, as does shark oil. Keeping your cue clean will make you feel better about it, and that will help your mental game. Be proud of your equipment, you paid good money for it.
the ferrule is the white part of the shaft that the tip resides on.

Q Clean, then Q slick....once a week works for me.....and even though I haven't bought any yet, Shark Oil also seems to be the choice of the forum....mike 8)

I couldn't live with a sticky, rough feeling cue anymore. For what little it cost...it's worth it...but you have to clean it first. Kokopuffs uses a wax on his he buys from K Mart.....It is made by Mothers I believe.....I looked for some at the local here, but they didn't carry it...... 8) Mike

Mother's California Gold Paste Wax comes in a red container. Checkout other automotive places.

Do a search at the general forum for Mothers Paste Wax. I wrote something on cleaning. Wax is applied to the shaft last, after all of the cleaning has been completed, in order to seal the pores. Again, do a search on wax and cue cleaning.
I clean the shaft regularly by using a damp cloth with a small amount of soap.this cleans the ferrule and shaft.I then use wax afterwards.this has worked well with no problems for many years.
