hello everone:
i am a new player of pool. i had a question, i can't get the draw shot right until now. i am using a lucasi cue with La pro tip. i try all my best to make the draw shot but dont have any luck yet. i try to hit low at the cue ball and level my pool stick with the table but still cant get it.
if i change the tip to Talisman or moori, will i get the draw back shot done? do the tip help up when player using draw back ? english? or.... because the tip i had is almost finish so i plan to get another tip. pls help me up!!!
ok should i keep using the La pro tip and try harder or should i change to Talisman or moori tip. and for a beginner which tip is better and user friendly  hope i can get help soon thank you :D
if you are a beginner then a soft tip is more forgiving.
draw and follow should be easier and you are less likely to miscue.
try an elkmaster.
I would suggest practice. Get advice from better players in your area. Tips have a lot to do with draw and english, but you should be able to get tons of draw with the LePro tip. 95% of if is stroke, then squeeze that extra little bit with a tip that fits your game. As you mentioned, you are just a beginner, so don't expect to much for a while. Just keep getting time on the table and things will start working better for you.

Biggest advice I can give you is to stroke all the way through the shot until your tip nears the felt. It should be about two to three ball lengths past the cue ball (space permitting of course).
Best way to get better is to go to a hall and set up the shot over and over again.

Damon is right....FOLLOW THROUGH......don't poke at it....also, if you are shooting with an open bridge, I would change to a wrap. I had the same problem just starting out, and everyone else does too. You might try scuffing the tip real good so that it will take more chalk. You probably can get lower on the ball than you think. LePro should draw just as good as most..... ...mike

thank you for all the advice. i think i am poke the cue ball all the time :? maybe that is the reason that i cannot get the draw shot. about the follow through, how long did i need to follow? (more or less)."until your tip nears the felt" what is felt mean?
when i lower the tip as well as the cue, most of the time i will jump the ball more than draw it. i try to chalk the tip and scuff it but i get stop shot not draw back ?? what happend ....
today i will get more practice hope i can learn the draw back soon. oh having a question. how long does the draw shot took you guys to master it? like about few days , weeks or month.
thank you :)

The felt is the cloth on the table.

Sounds like you need a video or some instruction. Robert Byrnes Volume I Pool Video does a good job explaining draw and basic fundimentals. A good $19 dollar investment if you are just starting out. Get it here from Seyberts for 10 bucks less than most other stores.

I do my best to chalk on every shot. I make it part of my pre-shot routine. It slows me down and allows me to completely focus on the shot as well as helping to prevent miscues.

I am trying to chalk every shot. When I was playing snooker, I was told "cue game is habit when you chalk you look angle on the ball check position and hit" there is nothing worse than miss cue. I think this works on pool as well.

but how can i make the tip hold the chalk? just scuff it or need to used the tip pik? am i need to scuff the tip for every shot(just like to chalk the tip)? because i found the tip is hard to hold the chalk. how do i know there are enough chalk on the tip for the draw shot?
Go to the pool hall and find someone who can draw the ball and have them try it with your stick. This should convince you wether it's equipment related. Blue master is common and works well, k-mart chalk won't get you anywhere. Brush the chalk on (no twisting) and make sure it's taking.
Also, set the white cue ball a-side, and grab a numbered ball. Have the Center circle of the number be where your trying to hit for draw. The chalk will leave a witness mark. You may find your hitting the edge of the circle instead.
