I wanted to get some opinions on some of the cloth colors offered by
Simonis 860. I wanted to get some new cloth but,
I think the Standard Green is a little bright...It almost looks like some yellow mixed into this green. What other colors are good without being too dark or bright?
Has anyone seen the Blue/green from them?
thanks for the replies,
jc.
We have the Marine Blue and we love the color. It is a darker cloth though and there's two issues we have.
1. Finding matching chalk. We use Silver Cup because it matches the felt perfectly. However the darker chalk shows up more on fingers and shafts.
2. Breaking rubs some of the color off the cloth meaning you have light spots in the cloth. Granted with the lighter colored cloths you may not notice this as much, with the darker ones you will. We have some small pieces of felt that we put under the cue ball so the friction doesn't hit the felt on the table.
But the color looks great and no one else we know has it. Everyone comments how they love the color.
We saw some larger pieces of felt at the showroom and the lighter blues looked just too bright. I think you would probably lean towards the Dark Green since it's in between the Simonis Green and the Spruce.
You also can give me a call up and I can send you out there color samples.

I have blue, but at the time (before joining this forum of pool gurus) didn't know that blue chalk would also turn your cue blue. Now I have to use a different color chalk....and it doesn't mix very well with the cloth color. And, aj is right about the breaking rubs........Next time, mine will not be blue, even though it is a pretty color.............mike
