I don't want to get into replacing my own tips and such, as I'd rather leave it to a professional, but I am curious as to how it is done. Can one of the Seybert's folks explain how the procedure works?

Mr. dhammis - you have a 314 icon next to your name!!! Their ferrules are soft and melt!!! If you do this without a lathe, would you prefer a dime or nickel shaped ferrule!!!
You have two choices:(1) Research where to find a real re-tipping pro (for me, an old verteran in NC knows a shop owner 50miles from me. I called. They have done hundreds of 314s.) (2) Get a USPostal Priority Mail box and send it to Predator.
If you want to know the pro way to do them (vs the prior site), go to:

PS - make sure you do not burn your 314 ferrule when you burnish the tip. 8O
