Best I remember, one is heavier than the other...the lightest for learning draw and follow...... 8)

Again I mean red and blue circle cue balls and not the red and blue dot ones.

What I've read so far is:
RED CIRCLE: the standard cueball used on the tour;
BLUE CIRCLE: the cueball included with the Brunswick Centennial Pool Balls.
RED AND BLUE DOT: these cueballs are heavier weighted.
Sid or anyone else know differently?
TIA.

I was confused over all of this a few months ago when I was looking for a better cue ball than the one I had.....I went with the blue circle.....and I like the way it responds...but you have a good question here......and I'd like to see the right results myself...... 8)

After a little research:
RED CIRCLE: manufactured by and advertised as Aramith;
BLUE CIRCLE: manufactured by Aramith and advertised as Brunswick Centennial.
According to a local salesperson, both have the same specifications in terms of size and weight yet the BLUE CIRCLE may be held to slightly tighter quality control meaning more rejects per thousand balls. Also the purchaser is paying for the Brunswick name. However, they both play the same, I'm told.

In an earlier post in this thread, you refer to draw and follow. Well, it's the red and blue dot cueballs that are the concern. One is lighter than the other; not the red and blue circle cueballs. The latter balls weigh equally.
Hi guys,
Koko, you have it right. red and blue CIRCLE are the same.
Red and Blue DOT are suppose to be heavier and lighter. blue dot being lighter, red dot being heavier. The Dot cue balls are a cheaper brand and do not constain to as tight of quality control as the circle balls. I would stick with the circle balls. Red or Blue does not matter, they are both the cream of the crop.

I can't resist Sid, why are they so different in price? If they are the same then I can't see why one color should cost so much more than the other.

IMHO:
What accounts for price difference are, as a salesman told me, the Brunswick name (blue circle) and tolerances. I assume that the blue circle may be held to tighter tolerances than the red circle. Yet, it's the red circle (Aramith) and therefore Aramith balls used widely on the pro tour today.
red circle can be purchased from any wholesaler, there for there is competition.
Blue circle can only be purchased through a Brunswick dealer so there is not as much beating the other guy up going on.

Sid, please check the retail part of Seybert's. The Brunswick blue circle cueball is, indeed, offered for sale.
yes, I have them for sale. I purchase the centenials from a dealer we assosiate with.
By the way, the centenial ball sets are available from billiard wholesalers, it is possible that the single cue balls are also. I just never look to wholesalers, we try to by direct whenever possible.

The other day I at a pool hall when I was given the tray of balls I noticed something funny about the cue ball. I compared it to my new Red Circle and behold, the cue ball in the tray was noticeably smaller. In fact, it was a snooker cue ball to which I called the owner's attention. Upon looking at my new cue ball, he immediately withdrew the snooker ball to the back room. No wonder my game played occasionally inconsistently. D*mn.
Moral: GET YOUR OWN BRAND NEW CUE BALL!
now me, I would have played with the small cue. That way I would have an excuse... :wink:
