View Full Version : Cleaning Cue Wrap
What would be the "best" way to clean your cue wrap? (linen)
without using too much water... fear of damaging the wood underneath.
and since my wrap is mainly white in color, i want to keep it as clean as humanly possible.
How often do you guys actually clean your wrap? :?

I THINK that I read somewhere that the wrap can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol.

I use a sneaky pete that has no wrap so I don't know about using S.O. on wraps. Also as I recall, my "factory" containers of S.O. say nothing about using it on wraps. I'll try to remember to reread the labels tonight when I get home from work.
I myself have used rubbing alcohol to clean the wrap of another cue that I used awhile back. The alcohol seemed to work okay.

I haven't bought any of this miracle juice yet....so I haven't seen the label....but Seyberts advertises it to clean wraps as well as all the other........just clicked on it the other day to read more about it....I think it also slices, dices, etc..........mike 8) By the way Koko...you ever played at JD's Sports Bar in Denver?

Yeah, I've played an JD's a couple of times since I live across the street from it. You're talking Greenwood Village located south of Denver, right?
But I usually play at Sport Bowl on Broadway and at Table Steaks on Sheridan - on the 9 footers.

I think that is it.....been in Denver one time..but not to JDs....the owner will be Dennis McCann....he has a very, very nice red headed sister in law that I'm very acquainted with.....she has been there and told me about it....His wife's name starts with the J as that is where the other initial comes from..she said he had 2 or 3 BRT in there...I'll have to ask her if this is the one......bar and grill I believe she said....If this is it...we may have to meet you for a couple of games somewhere down the road....you'll have to spot me a couple of course!!. 8)

Fine with me. And on your way out here bring some 'bama bacon. I mailorder my bacon from a farm in Booth, Alabama. Really tasty stuff since it's smoke-cured rather than brined.
And wait a minute, that's JD's Bait Shop and not Sports Bar that's located across from me. Is that what you meant?

Just emailed her and yes it is JDs Bait Shop...the world is smaller than I thought....how many pool tables does he have? I think she said 2 or 3, 7 footers....Drop in and see if you can catch Dennis....tell him his sister in law from Alabama (Tuscaloosa) sent you......Going to make a trip out there again some day...Co. is the some fine country.....on the bacon, skin on, or skin off? 8)

I re-read my the label on my 12 ounce bottle of Shark Oil and the instructions address the shaft only, not the wrap.

After reading about the Predator wrap fraying....and then looking at practically all my real old cues....where the wraps are now terrible...I wish I had bought a Predator without a wrap.....wouldn't worry about cleaning, fraying, or anything else....However, I wouldn't trade it for anything now...well, all most anything...
Hi guys, I finally got up to speed on this thread. (Thanks Koko) There has been a misprint on our website. The shark oil does not work on the wrap. It was inadvertanty put into the description. I have heard that rubbing alcohol works best on the linnen wraps. cleans and then evaporates fast. I have had the Ultra Leather wrap on my Predator for the past few years and have not played with linen for a while so I am out of the loop as far as wrap cleaners. Sorry I could not have been more help, and I really apoligize for the misprint. It should be fixed now.

Hi Sid!
Can you tell me how you got Ultra Leather wrap 8) on your Predator cue :?:
Thank you.
It is a Predator2 and just ordered it that way. It was the first generation Predator2 so it has been around a while.
