custom viking shaft

I have some questions about buying a custom-made viking shaft.

1) Can I custom the shaft diameter to 13mm instead of the normal 12.5mm shaft? I find the existing viking shafts too thin for accuracy esp. long table shots.

2) If yes how much will it cost me excluding freight costs.

3) Do I need to send in my entire viking cue or can I just order the shaft and have it delivered to me.

(A) the standard diamter on viking shafts is 13mm so there is no cost involved.

(A) It depends on the cue. Viking has a variety of beauty rings depending on the cue model. The prices vary. For a price, go to your cue or one similar on our website and go to the drop down box labeled "extra shafts". It will tell you how much an extra shaft is for that particular cue.

3) Do I need to send in my entire viking cue or can I just order the shaft and have it delivered to me.

(A)For a perfect fit and a guarantee from Viking yes. Viking will not allow any returns unless the butt was sent in for the fitting. However, the fit is usually very good without. Just no guarantee or returns. The best bet is to send in the butt.

Thanks for the answers. I have one further question though, viking shafts comes with a pro taper about 10 inches. Can I order the custom extra shaft and have viking make one without any pro taper at all? pretty much like the predator 314 shaft?

Predator cues come with a 12 to 15 inch taper and so do the Vikings so they are very similar already.
If you want a more conical "european" taper, Viking can do that also. Cost is $30.00 for the special taper.

European taper is a conical taper. There is no pro taper to it. It starts to go up right from the tip
