View Full Version : Efficient Room for a Table Help

I am buying my first house and one of the first things I wanna do is buy a pool table but I need some help before I do that. I have a room that I am going to make into my game room. The room is 28 x 12 and the pool table I am looking to get is the Kasson LaSalle(any opinions on this table would be helpful also, I am looking at the Maxwell too but I think I am going with the LaSalle) and the measurements on the 8 Foot LaSalle are 54 x 97 which would leave me about 45 inches on either side which would be a little more the 3.5 feet

My question is: Is this enough space for comfortable playing? I know I will have to use a short stick on straight shots across the table but for the most part I think this is enough space but I wanted some other opinions.
Thanks
Todd

Probably not. A good rule of thumb is to have 5 ft on each side of the table. A 7ft table would fit comfortably in a 17ft by 13ft room, an 8ft table would fit comfortably in an 18ft by 14ft rm, etc. Proline, Brunswick, Olhausen and others have the correct dimensions to the inch based on what size cue you are using.
