View Full Version : Efficient Room for a Table Help

I am buying my first house and one of the first things I wanna do is buy a pool table but I need some help before I do that. I have a room that I am going to make into my game room. The room is 28 x 12 and the pool table I am looking to get is the Kasson LaSalle(any opinions on this table would be helpful also, I am looking at the Maxwell too but I think I am going with the LaSalle) and the measurements on the 8 Foot LaSalle are 54 x 97 which would leave me about 45 inches on either side which would be a little more the 3.5 feet

My question is: Is this enough space for comfortable playing? I know I will have to use a short stick on straight shots across the table but for the most part I think this is enough space but I wanted some other opinions.
Thanks

It is going to be tight. You need 13 and a half foot for comfortable playing with a 8 foot table. You might want to consider a 7' table. 12 foot will still be to small, (you need 13' to be comfortable with a seven foot table.) but it will be less restricted than the 8 footer. Another thing to consider are getting the new trouble shooter short cues. They are weighted and feel great compared to a regular short stick.

You'll be awful sorry if you put that nice table in that small area.....if you are going to put that much money in a table....I would knock a wall out or build another room....You might consider a metal building with good insulation, heating and cooling..... I converted an old farrowing house into a pool room...works great...and you can throw your peanut hulls on the floor along with the beer your buddies spill. Mike 8)
