I usually play in Battle Creek on Sundays. It's a 9ball on the 9 footers, but I could change things up for a week or 2.
I need directions from I-94 in Jackson.
HOw many have been turning out?
Is there a calcutta?
I'll probably check it out. 8)

From I-94 in Jackson:
Take I-94 West to I-275 North.
I-275 North to the Ford Road Exit.
Turn right on Ford Road.
It's about three or four miles down on the left hand side, between Wayne Road and Venoy.

We've had about a dozen each week so far. Leagues are starting back up after the holiday break so we should start getting more as time goes on.
There isn't a Calcutta but there is an 8 on the break drawing with a pot that grows each week. It's currently at $88 and will go up next week.
Hope to see you there

The last time I went to Hall Of Fame in Warren, we took 94 to 14 to 275 North.
Would that be just as close?
I normally only do calcutta tourny's especially if there are less than 20 players, but you aren't that far out so I could give it a try.
Thanks for the directions.

Hall of Fame is on the other side of Detroit. The Ivory Room is a lot closer. If you were going to take 94 to 14 to 275 you'd want to head South on 275 from 14, then take a left on Ford Road from the exit.
C-ya there!

Ok. That does sound alot closer.
But I think this weekend is the big tournament in Fort Wanye In. at Billy Lewis' place. But I will make a point of getting to your tourny as soon as I can.

Last week we had our biggest turnout in our 5 week history with 17 players!
First place scored $82, Second place scored $34 and Third place scored $20. The 8 on the break pot is now up to $122 and since nobody won it, it will carry over to next week.
We will also be starting 9-ball tournaments on Saturday afternoons. More information to come on that.
See everyone there next week!

Damon, just curious, what size tables do you use in your tournament? Wish we had more interest in pool here in the South.....I can't even find a league within 100 miles to play in.....What size do most of the people in your tournament prefer to use? : 8)

Our tournament is played on 8ft Olhausen tables. Most of the players in the tournament prefer 8ft tables to the 7ft bar boxes or the 9ft tables though. In order of preference most of the players that show up have said 8ft, 9ft, then 7ft.
I like shooting on a bigger table as it is easier to get around the table to run out. Playing on a larger table with small pockets also increases your accuracy and I believe improves your game overall.

Another great turnout this week. We had 20 tough players show up this week to play and the payouts were $96 for 1st, $40 for second and $24 for third. The 8 on the break pot is up to $162 and we had no winners this week, so it carries over to next week.
We still haven't had any women players, so if you know any women players send them out our way next week so we can diversify our field.
This just keeps getting better and better every week. See everyone there next week at 4pm!

Slow week due to the Super Bowl being on at the same time, but we had 13 players show up to play. First place paid $62, second $26 and third $16. The 8 on the break pot was $188 and nobody won it, so again it carries over to next week. It should be no problem breaking the $200 mark and next week might be the week someone gets it.
Don't be left out of the fun. See everyone there next week!

Good turnout again with some more solid players.
18 people showed up and we got to watch some exciting pool. We auctioned off a few tries for the 8 on the break pot and while nobody won it this week it did get up to $247. Next week we are going to try to just sell tries for $5 a shot to see if anyone can win it.
1st Place - $86 - Mike Heath
2nd Place - $36 - Hank Lobbestael
3rd Place - $22 - Ron Scheffler
C-ya next week!

Another great week with some really good pool. 20 players showed up this week to compete in what is turning into a very good and very competative tournament. We experimented with selling tries for the 8 on the break pot and had 18 buy-ins for $5 each. Nobody hit it, although a few came very close to walking out with the pot, which is now at $377! Come on down next week and give it a try. I bet that we break $500 next week.
1st Place - Bill Copp - $96
2nd Place - Billy Pinion - $40
3rd Place - Mike Heath - $24
I'll see everybody again next week!

Another 20 players and our first women participants showed up this past Sunday to knock the balls around a bit. The competition was intense this week as one of the new women players made it into the money her first time playing. The new format for the 8 on the break pot has had a spectacular turnout, as we had 19 buy-in tries for attempts at a $512 pot!
Be there next week as the 8 on the break pot climbs up over $600 and more people show up. Remember, you can't win if you don't play!
Results:
1st Place: Stan K. - $96
2nd Place: Ron S. - $40
3rd Place: Michelle H. - $24

Wow, what a day we had yesterday! 22 players showed up to claim this week's crown and a shot a the 8 on the break pot, which was at $512 at the start of the day. We allowed up to three buy-ins per person at the 8 on the break and the very last person on the list, John Paladino, hit it on his second try of the night, earning himself a pot of $726!!!! John was our first 8 on the break winner since this tournament started back in December. Next week we start again to build the pot up and get some more winners. Remember, you can't win if you don't play!
Results:
1st Place - Mike Heath - $106
2nd Place - Chris Flavin - $44
3rd Place - Larry Everson - $26
