View Full Version : Hex head screw for Viking weight bolt
What specific size do you use? No plans of changing the weight bolt myself but just trying to adjust the weight bolt buy making it just a little bit less forward balance by moving the screw down towards the butt.
it is a quarter inch hex wrench. If you are going to try to move the bolt down towards the butt, I would suggest applying a little silicone to the bolt to hold it in place better. The bolt is really made to bottom out on the hole in the butt.

Think about it...If you loosen a lug nut on your car's tire halfway, do you think it will stay in that position? Same with a weight bolt in a cue. It will migrate due to vibration, impact etc... Make sure whatever position the bolt is in that it won't move.
Thanks for the info. Onne last thing where can i get that silicone thing and what type or brand?
Thanks again
any walmart or hardware store. It is a silicone gel type of glue. It will keep in place but when you want to remove the bolt it will break lose. Just don't overglue it.
btw, hop do i apply it? should i apply it around the wood thread inside then apply around the top of the screws sides after adjusting it??
I would put it on the threads (lightly) and then screw it down. This is something I have never done so there might be a better way. You will not need much, just enough to grab hold. If you do put it on the top which might work also, be very careful not to fil up the hex head hole. Good Luck,
