Is it possible to convert a Z shaft to a Z2 shaft by changing ferrules.

no, the difference between the generations is more than just the ferrule

please explain what more there is, spliced the same(10) same taper. I don't know what else there is for the shaft. Even n the Predator site they talk about a reengienered front ends. The ferrule is shorter, different material for ferrule, what else could be different?

It's possible! it'll cost you about $250 and I promise you that the shaft will look like new... :)

So in other words by new shaft because Predator has no old ferrules only new ones that they put on existing shafts thats what i"am hearing.

You may be over simplifying the differences. They don't stop with just the two I gave you or the other differences that you were given. There are significant differences btwn. the Gen 1 and the Gen 2 shafts. The design changes didn't happen at just the front-end of the shaft but at the back-end as well. For me to go into greater detail here would in effect be equivalent to 'opening a can of worms'. Certainly for me.

I think what you're really wanting though, is for someone to tell you that the conversion can be done. So I'll be the first, YES, the conversion can be done. But now you should also know that the cost of said conversion will easily surpass the cost of a new Gen 2 shaft. After all was said and done, you'd still have a Gen 1 shaft but with all the new add-ons. I'd bet money that someone would eventually ask you,'why didn't you just buy a Gen 2 and save some money?'. If you're still interested, let's get started.
