Now there's only Daryl Peach (ENG) and Roberto Gomez (PHI) for the FINALS... Can't wait for tomorrow! Go! Go! Gomez! :D

Yes, and the Hungarian, Vilmos Foldes is 3rd, therefore getting our country the very best result in pool.

Congratulations to him!

As usual I really wanted to see Bustamante wins it and as usual he won't.... :-(
Daryl Peach looked very secured in his game when he played Foldes, I guess getting pass Bustamante was quite the ego booster for him.

Roberto Gomez had the best game I've seen in years, his accuracy and cue ball control and position was perfect, it's amazing that we haven't heard of him until now, and yes I'm aware of the fact that there are lots of unknown great players around Asia....

I like the Filipino way of shooting pool so obviously I'm rooting for Gomez.... and besides we need a Filipino to avenge Busti defeat 8-)

BTW I really hope that Matchroom Sports and the WPA will do something about this soft break, it's killing the soul of 9ball, it's like cheating... I say 3 balls have to pass the side pockets (including balls that were pocketed in the side pockets on the break)

a lot of people was saying that the batone for dominance has been passed to the Taiwanese but Filipinos has gained pool dominance once again. There were 3 filipinos in the fianl 8 but unfortunately only one made it to the final. I was looking forward to an all Filipino final. Superman Gomez all the way. Keep the title at home where it belongs.

Congrats to Peach. Wish I had bet on him.

On another note, 9 ball, for players at that level, is to damn easy.

congratsto peach too. the pool gods was on his side during the match. I am a bit disappointed in the tournament commitee. They let the final be played on a damp table. They turned the AC on late and the felt was damp at the time of play. I just figure that for the world championship then they should be given the rigt tale under the right conditions. Gomez was not getting any roll at all, he might had a couple but it seems like he had a bad roll one after the other. I am very impress on Peach mental game and how discipline he is at the table. Thats one part of my game that i need to work on.

I watched the Finals yesterday live at ESPN and I was at the edge of my seat! Too bad, Gomez lost his nerve at the end. Bummer. :( Wasn't his time yet, I guess. But his previous matches were really great! I really thought he was a sure bet to win the tournament.

Peach was really great as well. Nothing fancy on his shots, kept it simple. And just like what the commentators said, it was making the right decisions and making few mistakes that made him win. First major title for England, right? Well, congratulations to Peach and England! :)

I still fancy Gomez's style though. He shoots with a bit of "flair".

How about you guys? Which style did you like better? :)

i like gomez style of play because my approach to the game is similar but i ADMIRE peachapproach to it. A combinoation of their two styles would serve best in my opinion. I wathc the whole thing over the internet and it was also live. It took them about 5 hours to complete the match. I am just hoping that Gomez will take this exerience and learn from it. even Alex Pagulayan lost his first world championship final and then he came back the next year and won it.

Both Predator players by the way! Way to go Daryl! He is a really nice guy and a good ambassador for the sport.
