Hello KJ,
Can you please educate me about the facts sorrounding the many joint materials/types used? Steel, implex, ivory, etc,..are just among the few which I find  as to how these affects one's feel and/or precision. Were there any previous discussion about this topic?
Thanks you.

Roju,
All joint types and materials will have a different 'hit' but no joint material will have a more accurate/precision hit than another material as far as pocketing balls. The most sought after hit is the wood/wood because it is the most natural, it more closely mimics the 1 pc. wood 'house' cue in feel. Generally speaking, the harder the matrl. at the joint, the harder the hit.

Left to my own devices, most all of my cues would be of a phenolic joint type because I like that style and it's hit/feel. I do build cues with the steel joint basically because some people ask for them.
