Hey KJ
I was wondering if there is a differenece in weight between the regular schon shaft and predator 314^2. The reason i asked because when i ordered my schon cue. i ordered a 19 oz with a predator 314^2 shaft but when i went to go weigh it then it came out to 17.8 oz.

Thanks

I would have assumed that the 314² would weigh less then the Schon since lowering the shaft weight is one of the factors for lowering deflection.

I was amazed when I checked the weight of the 2 shaft and found that my 314² shaft weigh 113 grams (3.9859 oz) and my Schon shaft weigh 112 grams (3.9506 oz)

17.8 oz for a Schon cue is quite rare, From Schon web site:
Schon Cues are a standard 58" cue. Weights range from 19 oz. to about 21 oz.
But then again the cue weight is always an approximate and never an accurate weight, My Schon cue weigh 18.9oz

What's the weight of the Schon butt by it self?

i have to weigh the butt the enxt time i am at the pool hall. I know that schon's wieght range is from 19.0 to 21.0 oz and thats why i was surprised when my cue came to 17.8. I have a CX37 cue.

Howdy,
Scales unfortunately vary in accuracy. The scale that I use in my shop is an O'haus triple beam lab scale and is accurate to 1/10 gram. I not only need to know the finished weight of the cue but sometimes the wght. of the individual components (pins, inserts, joint collars & etc.). That's when I need to have a very accurate scale to work with. If knowing a precise wght. is important to you, I would seek the most accurate scale that you can find. The post-office may oblige you for a one time weighing of your cue.

Hello cpilegis,
Did you actually owned and used all of the listed shaft? I ask because I want to know if you can rate them according to performance and feel. Which do you find best worst, solid or hollow, etc.
What made the Jacoby shaft heaviest?
Thanks
Ray

Here are some pics I took today
I use predator Z mostly,then 314 and OB-1
Joss shafts I used 10 years ago
CC , Jacoby unhit and Schon one shaft maybe had a rack on it the other unhit
Joss shaft with g-10 I use for break shaft on any of the cues instead of bringing out an extra break jump cue
There is also a fury jump break shaft on the end for when I wanna take that out

That is a very nice collection of shafts, they look very neat laying next to each other. As I see you own two old 314 shafts, I wonder how those hit...

Skor and cpilegis, how did/do you feel about the Talisman M tip the OB-1 comes with? Is it good to play with till it wears off / needs change or should it be removed asap? What is your opinion?

Thanks,

Skor,
You are a man who truly loves the game, ever in pursuit for that ultimate obidient "hit". So, which one truly obeys the master?
As for me, i love my Z2. Have'nt won a tournament here until I got it. It is the best hit for me, though I'm not yet executing the precise and consistent command that I wanted.
Good collection of shaft there.
