Hey KJ,
What should I use to clean the leather wrap of my cue?
Thanks in advance.
Howdy,
There are many leather cleaners available in the retail market. Some being Armor-All (auto parts store), Tandy Leather cleaner, etc. etc.
However, without spending any money you might try a mild dish detergent & water used sparingly. This may dull the sheen a bit but you can regain that sheen with a light dusting of shoe polish & buff.

Water... Water... Water...
Water is the universal solvent, and will work for 99% of your leather cleaning needs... Use a slightly damp cloth, and rub gently... That should take care of most of your needs...
Once a year, if you feel so inclined... Go over the leather with some quality leather conditioner... I recommend Zaino's Z-10 leather treatment....

A slightly damp soft cloth with a mild detergent then wipe down with a soft damp cloth with just plain water. I don't know about the product Greg recomended but many conditioners will leave leather looking clean and shinny but leave an oily residue. The purpose of the wrap on a cue is to absorb the sweat anf oils from your hand, Not add to it.

That is the great part about the Zaino product, no oily residue at all...
I would hate getting in my car, and sitting on oily leather seats... Yuck....

I put Armor All on my Motorcycle seat once  NEVER did that one again!!!! I don't think it's a good idea for your wrap..

lol... It'll sure make it look shiny! Just pay no mind when it goes flying out of your hands...
I'm going to Armor All my slicks before running my 1/4 mile!!! Can't wait to see how my 60' time is affected!! :)

Just as an FYI, keep in mind when dags says a mild detergent, he means exactly that... Which removes common dish soap from the list... Do not use dish soap, as they are of high alkaline, in order to help remove grease... And thus, they can dry out the leather... Really, that is why I think water will work for most cleanups of a leather hand wrap...
