Hi KJ,
I have a Lucasi cue with a uni-loc radial pin that i would like seyberts to fit and match a z2 shaft. Are all uni-loc radials the same diameter at the joint? The uni-loc qr ones I had are, so i always just bought shafts for it without having to send in the butt. I have a set of digital calipers so i could possibly measure the joint and send those measurements, if you think that could work. The collar is not usual lucasi railroad collar, it is black with a silver ring.
Hello,
I believe that all the Lucasi Radial pin shafts are the same diameter, which would be .850" at the joint. If it is different from that, then it can certainly be adjusted. However, the Z-2 shafts available for the Radial joint are currently offered with a single black collar only. If you require the shaft to match (visually) your Lucasi w/silver ring, I can do this for you but be advised that this is done at additional cost.
Contact Rick at Seybert's for pricing & details.

0.850 is right, i measured mine at 0.845" which would be within the margin of error. so i guess i can have the shaft made without sending in the butt? would you need a picture of the joint collar?

I can tell you form experience that you will not feel the .0025" ridge, especially when you consider that it never goes through your hand in play.
Hello McChen,
I wish we had more clients like you that had a set of calipers and actually knew how to use them. They're cool, aren't they ?
Normally I'd need at least a pic but in this case there is a very good possibility that Seybert's will have a Lucasi like yours or at least one of similar joint whereas I can take the dimensions from it. I'll get with Rick in the morning and let you know. On the upside of this, when I install the silver ring I can cut the joint diameter to .845 to better match your handle.
Good post, Thanx all

hehe, yeah calipers are cool! when i got them i ran around measuring every part of every cue i had. the black collar is .4" in height. this is what it looks like:

Hello,
I spoke with Rick this morning, he doesn't have one in stock, but I think that I can work from your picture. I know that the pic isn't to scale so I'll have to approximate by proportion. Here is what I've determined : the bottom blk. rng. is .125", the silver rng. is .030" & the top blk. rng. is .250". Are these correct ? Adjust my numbers as necessary & get back to me.
By the way, THANX for the pic. It helps BIGTIME.

oh, after taking a few more diameter measurements, i noticed that the diameter changes slightly depending on how the shaft is rotated. it varies from .842 to .845. don't know if this really makes a difference or not. i assume a few thousands of an inch isn't going to matter much
Not really a big deal. I prefer to stay on the big side for the shaft anyway.
I'll bring it in at .845" and you should be alright.
