while down in vegas this past week i met someone in the practice room that had a real good b/j cue and he said it had a G 10 ferrule/tip all in one combination or something like that, it was almost see through, whiteish color, it hit harder than any other b/j cue i've hit with and it easily jumped with it still being in full length. i was amazed by it but wouldn't wanna pay like $275, which is what i believe he said he just paid for it. definately would like to know if anyone knows much about any cues like that.

i've seen a cue called the lightning bolt that has a g10 tip/ferrule. g10 or g11 is really really hard, which explains why they jump so well. i guess if you want one on the cheap, you could get a cuemaker to put such a tip on any old cue.

Before anyone goes searching for this material or a cue maker to install it, you might want to do some research on just what you're dealing with. I've provided a link to get you started.

thanks for the link, i kinda thought that the tip was too hard in the first place but damn they smash the rack, no wonder why.

thanks kj, i didn't know that g10 did that kind of damage. if that is true that it is harder than the balls, what idiot thought it a good idea to make a tip out of it? definitely should be banned...
