I've another question KJ. What is recon mother of pearl, recon ebony etc. Recon is the word I'm questioning.

Good Afternoon Bill,
The term 'recon' is a shortened version of the word reconstituted. It applies primarily to stone & minerals that are crushed or broken down & recast in resin in the form of sheets of varied thickness that can be more efficiently cut
for inlays. Imagine if you were cutting a turquoise inlay from a stone. The task would be extremely difficult, very time consuming & would yield a high degree of scrap. With the recon process, you have very little waste & I would think that what scrap/waste you did have, could be recast again.
The term recon does not normally apply to wood, at least in this industry but I guess it could. With regards to wood though, look at particle board. That's a perfect example of 'recon'.
