I've never owned or shot with a McDermott cue but I've been admiring them on the net of late. I must say, some of them are really beautiful. Te M203 and M205 are really good looking, to me at least. I have to try one out one of these days and see how they hit.

I've shot with the M205 - it was the one and only high-end cue at the local (and yet again: the one and only) shop... McD. cues really do look great on the pictures and my Warden looked also very-very sharp and astonishing, but I couldn't tell you the same for that particular m205 in the shop... As you see tis cue has points - well, at the bottom of the points, they meant to reach, to have contact with each other. There were two points that had no contact and the points haven't had the same length - which is not that unusual but damn, that cue was priced $650 in that shop... The leather wrap was great and nicely done, no doubt about it. I have shot with it only a few times, so I can only tell how my Warden felt.
Firstly: it was very flexible, whenever you applied side spin to the cb then you could see the shaft "vibrate" - or something like that. The cue - due to the w2w joint (and of course the shaft's layout) - gave me very much feedback - and you'll find this very eerie but I used the cue with the stock Triangle tip that the cue came with - and I can't say any reason for that... Perhaps I just didn't felt like trying out a layered tip or... I don't know...
Well, all I can say that my cue looked great, I loved the feel, etc... I have got only one minor problem with it: I find the handle too thick. Not that I have a big hand, but I believe that you can aim and feel where are you aiming at if you're holding a thinner cue in your hand than a thicker - don't know why, but I feel way more comfortable the Predator's thinner handle.
McDermotts are nicely done, that's for sure - my favorite is the Navigator II and the Shadow - along with many others.
One more thing that I found out after posting my reply: as it seems to me on the picture of the M205 that you may find here, at Seybert's (http://www.seyberts.com/pool_cues/cue_detail.php?model_number=M205) the points have some gap between each other, so maybe I remembered wrong and the points had gap between each other on that particular cue either and two points had some contact with each other... Yes, I believe that was the case - sorry for my bad memory, I'm lucky that I've checked out the pic given by Seybert's one more time in details! :-)
