They seem to be more expensive then others and he has so many. I dont think 1 video or even 5 would cover all that much just my ignorant opinon. :)

I have The Lesson and learned a lot from it. One thing I don't like about it is the spiritual veneer he tries to affect. Another is the feeling that he sort of sprinkles bread crumbs to lead you to his other products. I suspect a lot good information is there, if you invest in the whole product line -- with the exception of the Monk doll.

I know many people disagree with me on this, but I found his tapes pretty useless. I think your money would be better spent on Robert Byrne's tapes, or Jimmy Reid's "No Time for Negative" series. Better than any tape would be Byrne's book or Phil Capelle's book "Play Your Best Pool", but some people don't like to read.

I've been playing for about a year and got the Monk stuff...truth be told I got them b/c they're on DVD, which is the only player I have in my house.
They're pretty good in the sense that they help you think about things beyond just hitting the shot.
His spiritual stuff is b/s.
One thing that annoyed me was that the MORE expensive from his website than through other sites.
All in all, I thought they're pretty good, but I haven't used other video's, only books which I found useless.

I didn't find that I learned much from his books / tapes, but the rest of your analysis I agree with wholeheartedly. The "veneer" you speak of really turns me off, makes me take everything else he says with a very large grain of salt. The bread crumbs analogy is perfect, it is exactly what he does.
